How to Get Glaceon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Ice, ice, baby.

Glaceon is Eevee’s Ice-type evolution and in previous games, you had to go find a specific icy rock and stand next to it to get it to evolve. Luckily, that’s not the case in the Paldea region – it’s more streamlined than when the ‘mon was first introduced in Gen 4. Here’s how to get Glaceon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Evolving Eevee into Glaceon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The thing you need first before anything else is obviously an Eevee, which you probably already have but on the off-chance that you don’t, head over to our How to Get Eevee in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet guide for its spawn location.

Once you’ve got yourself an Eevee, there’s only one more piece of the puzzle left before you can evolve it into Glaceon: an Ice Stone. Unlike other Evolution Stones that are sold in Delibird Presents after beating three Gym Leaders, the elusive item never appears for sale. So, how do you get one then?

How to Get an Ice Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The only way to secure an Ice Stone is to find one on the ground, or win one from a Tera Raid battle which is random. As for where you can locate one, well, where in Paldea is snowy and icy? Glaseado Mountain, of course.

Ice Stones have a chance of spawning randomly around the mountain so make sure you interact with every Poke Ball item and sparking spot that you see and you’ll eventually pick one up.

With the Ice Stone in hand, open up your Bag and scroll over to the Other Items section. Select the Ice Stone and then click on the Eevee in your Party to trigger the evolution into Glaceon.

Where to Catch Glaceon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Alternatively, if you’d rather catch a Glaceon instead of evolving one, there is a Tera Pokemon version on Glaseado Mountain, though it’s level 50 so make sure you’re prepared first.

You can find it northeast of Montenevera, just after the on-screen notification for North Province (Area One) shows up. Good luck!
