How to Get Eviolite in Pokemon Sword and Shield

So you’re wondering where to find Eviolite in Pokemon Sword and Shield? Well, before we go all the way, it might be handy to actually pin down what Eviolite does. The name doesn’t really offer any suggestions or hints, but that’s what we’re here for. Eviolite is something that you’re going to want to give to Pokemon that you haven’t evolved.

It’s going to be basically useless on anyone who can’t evolve any further – the item’s description says that when it’s “held by a Pokemon that can still evolve, it raises both Defense and Sp. Def.” Basically, it’ll slap on some tanky training wheels when it comes to first and second evolution Pokemon, which can come in handy.

Some Pokemon end up with the short end of the Def stick when they evolve, like Corsola, so slapping an Eviolite onto them would help mitigate this. However, the answer when it comes to how to get Eviolite in Pokemon Sword and Shield is simple.

You’re going to want to head to Ballonlea, where there will be a house with someone called Pokemon Breeder Elena in it. Once you defeat Elena in battle and take down her Eviolite-equipped squad, she’ll give you one of her own as a reward. Easy peasy!

Her team is, well, a single persistent Dottler so just make sure that you’re going to use Flying or Dark moves on it and you should be totally fine. Once that’s done, the Eviolite is yours for the taking.

Now that we’ve shown you how to get Eviolite in Pokemon Sword and Shield, it should be a little easier for you to nab this item and to make sure that you’re blessing one special Pokemon with the means to become a defensive juggernaut.
