How to Get End of the Line in Genshin Impact

Now this… this is a work of art.

One of the best selections of weapons in Genshin Impact isn’t something you have to wish on the Gacha for, you don’t even have to craft it, you can get it for free on skill alone: fishing skill! Although the fishy Claymore was exclusive to the Moonlight Seeker Event, you can obtain the other selections through the Fishing Association members scattered around Teyvat. There’s “The Catch” you can trade down in Inazuma and now there’s the End of the Line in Sumeru. Here’s how you get it.

Genshin Impact’s End of the Line: Where to Go And Who to Speak to

To get the End of the Line, you’ll need to go to Sumeru. The weapon is exclusive to this region, as well as its refinement materials, but it’s pretty easy to find once you’ve already started the fishing quest in Inazuma. Only it won’t be in Sumeru City that you find this member of the Fishing Association, you’ll have to travel a fair bit into Sumeru. You won’t need to travel all the way to the desert, but down south in Sumeru, you’ll head to Port Ormos.

Our fishing expert won’t be inside the port but rather just a bit north of where the docks end in Port Ormos. Meet Loumelat who has found the coziest fishing spot in Sumeru. Speaking to her will open up a list of menu items that you’ll be able to trade in for some of the fish you have previously caught. One of which, you’ll be needing is Loumelat’s Sugardew Bait. This recipe is going to be handy in getting the Sumeru fish you’ll need to trade in for the weapon and for the refinement materials. To make it easier on yourself, you can also go for Serendipity, the Sumeru Fishing Pole that’ll make catching fish specific to this region a lot easier.

What You’ll Need for End of the Line and Refinement Materials in Genshin Impact

Good news and bad news, on one hand, you won’t need to worry about looking for too many types of different fish. But on the other end, you’re going to need a lot of those few fish because both the bow and the refinement material require the same fish. The refinement material, Original Fish Ointment, will require less fish than the materials you had to get for “The Catch” but you’ll still need to gather quite a few of them.

One of the fish you’ll need is Peach of the Deep Waves, or what I like to call the Pink Goblin. Sumeru has come out with some curious-looking fish that are horned and then somehow have more horns, and resemble pufferfish if they just stayed the size of volleyballs. Although you’ll find many of these types of Goblin fish around, there’s only one place you’re going to see the Peach of the Deep Waves. But onto the next few fish dubbed the Dumplings, or as the game decides to put it, the Marlins. Sleepy-looking fish come in an array of cool-toned colors. The two types that you’ll need are the Lazurite Axe Marlin and the Halcyon Jade Axe Marlin. Very pretty names, but it sums down to the blue and green Dumpling fish.

End of the Line

  • 4x Peach of the Deep Waves
  • 16x Lazurite Axe Marlin
  • 16x Halcyon Jade Axe Marlin

Original Fish Ointment (One Singular Refinement Material)

  • 2x Peach of the Deep Waves
  • 8x Lazurite Axe Marlin
  • 8x Halcyon Jade Axe Marlin

Total:

  • 12x Peach of the Deep Waves
  • 48x Lazurite Axe Marlin
  • 48x Halcyon Jade Axe Marlin

Best Spots to Go for These Fish in Genshin Impact

Unless my math is off, that’s a lot of fish to gather. But while math is hard, fishing doesn’t have to be. Luckily, you can find just about any of the Lazurite Axe Marlin and Halcyon Jade Axe Marlins at any of the fishing spots that are around Sumeru. As one of the most common fish in the area, you can find them in the daytime or in the nighttime.

Peach of the Deep Waves is a little more complicated, but also incredibly simple. They only appear in the daytime and only in one place. In the Mawtiyima Forest, you’ll find the fishing spot not in the lake down below but rather in the pool of water of one of the many mushroom-like trees that grow here. You can get around five fish per day here so within a few days, you should have all the fish that you need to trade in for all of the refinement materials and End of the Line.
