Besides having a name similar to a Pokemon from the first-generation era, Ember is a powerful variant of the Solstice. But to acquire one, you’ll need to get a day job. That is, it’s locked behind a lengthy faction quest. It’s not so cut and dry, however. To get Ember in Starfield, you’ll have to join Ryujin and complete a few different quests with side steps involved.

Where to Get Ember in Starfield

To get Ember in Starfield, you’ll need to enlist with Ryujin Industries, a corporation based in Neon that adores stealth and sabotage. As you follow their questline, keep an eye out for “Top Secrets.” It’s a quest involving shaking down a character through persuasion, credits, or by completing a side job. If you want Ember, then choose the side job option.

From there, you’re tasked with tracking down the Datura orbiting Saturn. A character onboard, Malai, is holding on to Ember, and she’ll only hand it over via a persuasion check or upon her death. It’s up to you which option you take.

Personally, the Solstice always felt like one of those toy guns you buy at a dollar store. You know, the type that shoots foam balls. But the Ember variant offers a little more bang for your buck. Its pre-installed mods, especially Ignition Beams, cause additional damage and burn enemies. It’s a bit more exciting than a toy gun.

Ember is an excellent early-game laser weapon for those who would instead opt for a more science-fiction route than, say, the Eon or Urban Eagle. With a few points in Lasers, under the Combat Skill Tree, you can easily turn Ember into a powerhouse that ignites enemies!
