The main way to get eco-upgrade parts is to use your fabricator. Using 15 bits (screw icon) and 10 pieces (banana icon), you’ll create one upgrade part for each successful attempt. There is a chance the attempt will fail, so make sure you’re prepared to get a few extra bits and pieces if you need a lot of eco-upgrade parts!

If you’re unsure how many of each currency you have, mouse over your Household Funds in the bottom corner of your screen. Under your funds, you’ll find two extra numbers with the screw and banana icons, indicating your total bits and pieces!

There is also a chance to get eco-upgrade parts while dumpster diving. To do this, find any dumpster in your Sims world and pick “Dive for Deals“. While you’re not guaranteed to get any, and you’re more likely to get bits and pieces, old furniture or dyes, there is a chance you’ll pick up one of these parts instead. You can either buy your own dumpster and dive into it when it fills up or head to a region like The Waterfront in Evergreen Harbor’s industrial district.
