What is Cryo Freeze Ammo?
Cryo Freeze is a unique ammo type that can be used temporarily slow enemies down upon being shot with the ammo equip. It is found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s all-new open-world Zombies Mode.
Where to Get Cryo Freeze Ammo in MW3 Zombies
You can get Cryo Freeze Ammo by completing contracts or by crafting the ammo mods with a schematic in the MWZ menu. Until you can find a schematic, completing contracts and searching the Reward Cache is going to be your best bet. No matter what you search though, there will always be a little bit of luck.
Because ammo mods like Cryo Freeze are only considered a blue rare, they can appear in common places as well. Aether chests and special zombies have a chance to contain one of the many ammo mods. If you’re searching for the icy one specifically, just watch for the snowflake symbol when you peek inside a chest.

Earn Cryo Freeze Schematics Ammo Through Infested Strongholds
The best way to get a Cryo Freeze Ammo schematic is by completing Infested Strongholds or contracts. Like before, this will take plenty of luck to get the desired reward, so strap in for another roll of the dice.
When you do get a schematic, it will be a gold rarity and hard to miss. If you can extract with it, you can craft some of the ammo every couple of hours for free. And with the amount of drops in the MW3 Zombies zone, you’re bound to find more as rewards on top of the crafting.
Crafting Cryo Freeze Ammo in MW3
To create Cryo Freeze Ammo in MW3 Zombies, you must first locate the corresponding schematics during a match. Schematics can be discovered in Aether Caches, loot chests, and Reward Rifts, but their availability during a match is entirely randomized. Upon finding a schematic, promptly exfiltrate with it to enable crafting.
Customize your loadout, access your rucksack, and utilize the schematic crafting menu to craft Cryo Freeze Ammo for your upcoming matches. It’s important to note that while no materials are required for crafting schematics, the items you craft, including Cryo Freeze Ammo, will have a cooldown before being available for use again.
