How to Get Credits to Buy Skins in Overwatch 2

Make it rain!

When Overwatch 2 was first released back in October, the concept of credits was almost completely gutted from the game. Instead, there were now Overwatch Coins that could be purchased for real money and spent on items in the in-game shop. If you had credits left over, you could still buy old skins provided they were available. There was no way to get any more than that though. That is, until a recent major content update. Here’s how to get credits to buy skins in Overwatch 2.

Where to Get More Credits in Overwatch 2

Starting with Overwatch 2 Season 3, credits can be earned again and spent on seasonal event skins (and default skins) that were available in Overwatch 1. While this includes skins from events like Summer Games and Winter Wonderland, it does not include any skins found in weekly challenges. These prices were also reduced, with legendary skins now costing 1500 credits or coins rather than 1900 credits before the update.

As for how you can get them, they’re earned through the battle pass. Provided you own the pass and get to level 80 before the season’s end, you’ll earn 2000 credits to spend on whatever you’d like. 1500 of these are free to earn, while the other 500 can be earned by buying the battle pass and getting the tiers. That might seem slow, but given you’re essentially getting an extra skin every season, it isn’t that bad of a deal.

It’s a big step up for the monetization of Overwatch 2, seeing as before the battle pass was the only means of progression. Now, any skins you want can be yours as soon as you have the credits. If you still have credits stocked up from Overwatch 1, you’re also free to use those whenever. Now get out there and become rich!
