How to Get Claidheamh Soluis in Star Ocean the Divine Force

The sword, not the Irish nationalist newspaper

While the system itself is quite simple, the process to both unlock and then fill out Item Creation or crafting in Star Ocean The Divine Force is kind of a journey. Part of it is simply gated by story progress. But once you open those gates you have to perform a fetch quest-style task for Welch. For “Welch the Engineer,” the eccentric Witch Lady asks you to find two of a specific item: Claidheamh Soluis. Don’t ask me how to pronounce that, but I can tell you how to get it.

Star Ocean The Divine Force: Welch the Engineer Quest Guide (How to Get Claidheamh Soluis)

This is a shockingly easy task, but like many other tasks in Star Ocean The Divine Hope, there’s no actual signposting or help on what the item is or how to get it. It’s strange, but good for me and my KPIs at work, lemme tell ya. So, Claidheamh Soluis is a greatsword, the weapon class Raymond uses. To produce one of these yourself you can craft them with Smithing, but that requires time and money.

To definitely save time and probably money as well, you can also just buy these things. In fact, the shop in Delryk just a few hops away from Welch’s shop sells them. Claidheamh Soluis swords are a little pricey at 1800, Fol. That being said, a stack of the cheapest Smithy material (Iron) costs 5800 Fol. And that probably won’t produce even a single Claidheamh Soluis at this point in the game.

There’s a lot of Star Ocean The Divine Force on the site now, and a lot more to come here at Prima Games. For now, check out my review, and stay tuned for more guides and maybe something fun down the line.
