Everyone’s biggest problem in Pax Dei is going to be the lack of storage spaces for all your different resources. The stack sizes for certain items are too small, which is why you are going to need several storage chests, especially if you are playing with other players. There’s a way you can slightly solve the issue by getting bigger chests and increasing your storage in Pax Dei. Here’s a guide on how you can unlock and craft them.
How to Increase Your Storage Space in Pax Dei
Your main way of storing items is through building and placing Simple Chests. A Simple Chest gives 15 storage slots for items, and you can stack up to two Simple Chests on top of each other at a time to save some space. However, things get a bit hectic once you discover new resources and get hundreds of resources to store.
The next upgrade from the Simple Chest is the Decorated Chest. The Decorated Chest holds 30 storage slots for any kind of item, but it does require some harder-to-farm resources to craft.
You need 8 Planks, 30 Iron Nails, and 2 Iron Hinges to craft a single Decorated Chest. Both Iron Nails and Iron Hinges are crafted using Iron Ingots. These Iron Ingots all come from smelted Impure Iron Ingots, so you need a huge stockpile of Impure Iron Ingots if you want to drastically improve your storage.
Planks are easy to find, and if you are upgrading your chests, you can dismantle the Simple Chests to get some Planks back. Technically, you just need thousands of Impure Iron Ingots to upgrade all your Simple Chests.
Storage Tips & Tricks in Pax Dei
- Place your chests near production buildings and workbenches and place items and resources that are exclusively used by those buildings and workbenches.
- If you don’t plan on queuing any crafts on your production buildings, you can leave them inside until you need to use them.
- Refine some resources to save some space, e.g., turning Small Rough Animal Hides into Rawhides.
- Throw useless items or weaker armor and weapons away.
