How to Get the Royal Hourglass in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To obtain the Royal Hourglass, you must progress far enough into the Eternity Isle quest line to find the “flying metal nuisance”, also known as EVE, and gain her trust to allow you to take the hourglass. Doing this requires initially finding her, locating a hidden area through her memories, and cooking a delicious meal.

Where to Find EVE

After speaking to Jafar to begin this quest series, you’ll find EVE on the other side of the bridge connecting The Docks to the western beach. Upon returning to The Docks, you’ll spot a bridge with copper rocks blocking your way. Using the pickaxe upgrade Jafar gave you, break these rocks and cross the bridge to find EVE to your right.

Getting EVE to Trust You

Upon speaking to EVE, she initially doesn’t trust you enough to give you the Royal Hourglass. After entering her house and clearing away some junk, you’ll find a memory revealing the two main parts to fixing this trust issue:

  • Find the hidden area in EVE’s memories
  • Create the Best Fish Forever meal

After entering her house and revealing the memory, you’ll spot an archway, robot costume, and meal in the picture. Our first step is to cross the bridge again, turn right, and head behind the waterfall to enter EVE’s secret hideout.

Here, you’ll spot a brown treasure chest containing treasure bags, which you’ll have to open to get a robot costume. Wear this and talk to EVE to initiate the second half.

From here, you’ll have to create the Best Fish Forever meal using the following items:

Once you’ve gotten these four items, head to any nearby cooking station to craft the dish. Return to EVE to officially gain her trust, allowing you to obtain and use the Royal Hourglass.

How to Use the Royal Hourglass in Disney Dreamlight Valley

After obtaining the Royal Hourglass, you can use it with Jafar’s help. The main uses of the Royal Hourglass are to clear away swirling sands to gain mist, and find hidden objects. Jafar will initially instruct you to remove sand before telling you to go to a secluded beach, allowing you to test the hourglass’ powers for the first time.

Clearing Swirling Sands

With your hourglass, approach any swirling sand obstacle and use it like a pickaxe or shovel. The sand will disappear, leaving mist in its place. Over time, you will upgrade the hourglass, allowing you to clear larger sand deposits.

Finding Hidden Objects

To find hidden objects with the hourglass, use it again like before to show a swoosh of color above your character’s head. It will appear as one of three colors: blue, yellow, or red. These three colors indicate how close you are to the nearest hidden objects. If it is blue, you’re far away and must head closer in the direction the light is facing. If it’s yellow, you’re getting closer; if it’s red, you’re a few steps away from finding it.

Pay attention to its direction; this signals where you’ll have to move to find the item.

Once you find the item, a small minigame will appear where you’ll have to quickly press a button to expand the circle, allowing you to obtain the hidden object.
