One of the most remarkable features in Avatar is the ability to customize and fly on a mount, soaring through the skies and taking down gunships. Here is how to get an Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora!
Where to Get an Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
From the get-go, the one thing I wanted from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was to fly an Ikran, which occurs as you progress through the main story. I was approximately level 5 when the Aranahe felt I was ready to take the plunge to become a warrior. There’s a quest, Take Flight, which tasks you with climbing to the very top of the Ikran Rookery, which is, of course, inside one of the many floating mountains over Pandora. It’s quite the journey.
As you ascend the flying mountain, the music kicks up a notch, and you’re treated to countless exceptional vistas looking out over the land. You leap between floating rocks, clamber tree roots and up vines, and attempt to tame an Ikran of your own. It’s a genuinely magical and exciting quest.
At the end, you leap off the side of the mountain and trust your Ikran to catch you. It’s a memorable flight that unlocks many future quests and exploration possibilities.
How to Fly an Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Once you bond with your Ikran, you must cement the relationship during the first flight. It’s just a lore excuse to jump off the side of a floating mountain and soar through the air. But hey, it’s incredible!
To fly an Ikran on PC:
- W/S – Increase/Decrease Speed.
- A/D – Strafe Left/Right.
- Mouse – Turn Left/Right.
- Right-Click + Mouse Movement – Free Look.
- Shift – Adjust Ikran Free Look.
- Spacebar – Speed Burst.
- Ctrl – Land (Near Ground).
- Ctrl (Hold) – Mid-Air Dismount.
You will spend plenty of time flying on your Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora so that these controls will become second nature in no time. However, I regularly confused the speed boost with the free look, as I’m accustomed to using shift to sprint instead of the spacebar.
