How to Get a Mount in Diablo 4

Breeze past enemies in the wild.

With such a large map to explore in Diablo 4, it only makes sense that players would be able to get a mount and move around each region much faster. However, getting your mount will take longer than it seems when you start the game, and I can tell you exactly how I got mine so the confusion ends.

How to Unlock the Horse in Diablo 4

To get a horse in Diablo 4, you must complete the “Mount: Donan’s Favor” quest. This is a side quest that will not appear until your reach Act IV in the main story. You must complete Act 1, 2 and 3 to be able to receive this quest.

This is where much of the confusion behind mounts stems, and it’s why they were unavailable as players explore Fractured Peaks for the first time.

When you complete the “A Master’s Touch” quest and return to Donan in Kyovashad, you will be assigned the “Mount: Donan’s Favor” quest by default. From here, finish speaking with Donan in the main cathedral and then head back down into town where the stable master is waiting.

How to Get a Horse in Diablo 4:

  • Reach Act IV in the main story.
  • Speak to Donan after completing A Master’s Touch.
  • Start the Mount: Donan’s Favor quest.
  • Speak to the Stable Master in Kyovashad.
  • He will give you a mount.

The side quest is over super fast, and the mount is yours right away. You can call the mount at nearly any time, and it provides plenty of utility. Mounts come with speed boosts, extra attacks when you leap, and less aggro pull from groups of enemies as you roam around Diablo 4.
