How to Get a 40% Experience Boost This Week in WoW

Spin to win.

We’re in the second week of the five-week Turbulent Timeways timewalking event, which is a great chance to stack up some serious experience boosts when leveling alts. But this week, the event lines up with another long-running holiday: the Darkmoon Faire. Here’s how to synergize these two opportunities for a 40% experience boost!

Using Darkmoon Faire and Turbulent Timeways for a massive XP boost

During the Turbulent Timeways event, completing a Timewalking dungeon (via the Group Finder) gives a stack of Knowledge of the Timeways, granting a 5% experience bonus. Completing four dungeons upgrades this buff to Mastery of the Timeways for a total experience bonus of 30%. For the additional 10%, just hop on the merry-go-round at the Darkmoon Faire and let the WHEE! Buff stack up to its full, hour-long duration. See the map below for the carousel’s location.

If you’re unsure of how to get to the Darkmoon Faire, just talk to one of the representatives in your capital city (Orgrimmar for Horde, or Stormwind for Alliance) to teleport to the staging area for a small fee (a whopping 25 copper).

Mastery of the Timeways lasts 3 hours, and WHEE! lasts 1, so make sure you’re doing the following:

  • Completing at least 1 Timewalking dungeon every 3 hours
  • Riding the Darkmoon Faire carousel every 1 hour

The fastest way to level will probably be spamming Timewalking dungeons regardless, so all you’ll need to do is plant yourself at the faire. Just remember to buy ride tickets from the vendor directly in front of the carousel entrance!

The Darkmoon Faire lasts until October 7, so you still have a few days to take advantage of the extra experience it grants. I plan on taking the opportunity to level an alt or two, but check out our alt-gearing guide if you want them to be prepped for the endgame.
