How to Solve Xbox Error Code 0x87e50033

Error code 0x87e50033 may pop up when you are attempting to launch a game or app on your Xbox console. This indicates that there is a problem that can oftentimes be resolved by simply restarting the game. To address this error in such a manner, follow these steps, and don’t worry if it doesn’t solve it; we’ve got a backup solution, too.

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Select the game or application you want to start up, and then press the Menu button.
  3. Choose “Quit”. If “Quit” is not available for you, this means that the game/application is already closed, and you can try starting it again (skip this step).
  4. If you have closed the game/application successfully, wait about 15 seconds, then attempt to start the game or app again.

If the problem persists after trying to boot up the game or application after waiting for 15 seconds, you should perform what’s called a power cycle reset. Here’s how to do a power cycle reset:

  1. Turn off your Xbox and the Internet Router.
  2. Unplug the power cable from your Xbox and your Internet Router for 3 minutes.
  3. Plug everything back again.
  4. Wait for a few seconds.
  5. Boot up your Xbox and attempt to start the game/application again.

If you established that the issue still won’t go away after all these steps, you could try to perform a (software) reset of your Xbox console. Don’t worry, you won’t lose your installed/downloaded games.

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Go to Profile & system.
  3. From there, go to Settings.
  4. From there, go to System.
  5. From there, go to Console info.
  6. In the Console Info, choose the Reset console option.
  7. A “Reset your console?” screen will show up. You can select the “Reset and keep my games and apps” option because that won’t delete your stuff.

If you are still encountering this problem after the reset, please contact Microsoft Support. Make sure to let them know about the troubleshooting you’ve done so far so that they can answer the ticket more precisely and skip the troubleshooting you’ve done already. There may be something else we missed before a Factory Reset option is introduced.
