Thank Goodness You’re Here! is a hilarious title from Coal Supper and one of the best titles of the year. The PC version has plenty of options to tweak with support for higher refresh rates as well. However, it doesn’t have ultrawide support, which makes it a pretty awkward experience for ultrawide users. Thankfully, a patch by Lyall from the widescreen community adds proper ultrawide support to Thank Goodness You’re Here! and fixes its issues.
Fixing the Thank Goodness You’re Here! Ultrawide Issue
By default, Thank Goodness You’re Here! doesn’t have any ultrawide support, and this patch from Lyall adds custom resolution support, ultrawide, and narrower aspect ratio support and even lets you skip intro logos.
- Head over to the following GitHub link
- Download the patch file by clicking the TGYHFix_v1.0.0.zip under assets
- Extract the zip file in the game’s installation folder. The default Steam address is the following:
steamapps\common\Thank Goodness You're Here!
After you have extracted the file, launch Thank Goodness You’re Here! again. The boot will take a bit longer than usual to install the patch, but after that, it should work properly in ultrawide. Here is a comparison shot provided by Lyall.
All credits go to Lyall for creating and testing the patch. They have released multiple patches for recent titles, including Ghost of Tsushima, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, Persona 3: Reload, and more.
If you want to make further adjustments to the settings, you can open the TGYHFix.cfg using a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++, and edit a few values.
Additional Command for Linux / Steam Deck
If you’re on Linux or want to use the patch on the Steam Deck, then you need to use the additional launch command as well.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%
We hope that the developers add support for ultrawide in a future update, but it doesn’t seem likely, and for now, this is your best bet.
If you want to remove the patch for any reason, simply delete the files you extracted with the patch. That’s all there is to it, and if you’re looking to unlock some trickier achievements, head over to our dedicated section for Thank Goodness You’re Here!
