Payday 3 has finally released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, both for those who bought the game and on Game Pass. Things are in full swing, and heisters can finally return to the shooting and looting the series is known for. While that is exciting, the idea of errors blocking you from that is a lot less exciting. Here’s how to fix the Payday 3 Nebula data error.

Payday 3 Max Skill Points

When you first launch Payday 3, you’ll be asked to create an account through the Starbreeze Nebula service. This both serves as your account for Starbreeze games and allows crossplay between all three platforms. The issue with it is that a lot of people want to play the game at the time of writing, seeing as it’s an hour after launch. This has overloaded the Nebula servers and naturally has led to tons of errors popping up.

It’s because of this that I can’t entirely guarantee my fixes will solve your problem. They might, but if they don’t, you may just have to wait for Starbreeze to get things sorted out. With that out of the way, let’s get into it.

Always check the Payday 3 Social accounts as they will update players if the servers are having issues.

Log in Without Linking Your Steam Account

Some players have had varying degrees of success by logging into their Starbreeze account without linking their Steam account. This can be done by logging out of it if you were already logged in, then logging in again. However, you want to do this by typing in a username and password instead of going through Steam. Launch the game from there, and the error may have fixed itself.

Restarting the Game and Your Platform

While unlikely, another possible fix involves restarting both Payday 3 itself and your PC, Xbox, or PlayStation console. This could refresh some things and get you access. Multiple restarts of the game itself could help, but again, there are varying degrees of success.

Create a New Account

Other users have reported creating a new account can get the job done for them. This is good if you have yet to play Payday 3 at all, but I wouldn’t suggest it if you’ve already been making progress with your current account.

If all else above fails, you can try to get in contact with Nebula Support. You’ll likely be informed of the current server issues, but you never know what might turn up. If you do manage to get in, you can use our guide on how to fix the Payday 3 Network Error, No Network Connection issue.
