How to fix Error Code 3-0x0001000b in Rainbow Six: Siege

Error Code 3-0x0001000b is an error that feels like it’s been around since the dawn of time. It’s been booting players out of the game for years and still, there’s no one set way of trying to fix it. In general, if you receive this error, it means Ubisoft’s server is down. Or it could mean that you have missing or broken game files.

Here’s what you’ll need to do.

  • Confirm that the servers aren’t down.

You can check Rainbow Six: Siege’s server status at any point here. This link will show you the global status for all platforms, and it’s connected to R6’s Twitter account, which will also update if the server is down.

If the server is down, all you can do is wait.

  • Verify the Integrity of Your Game Files

This isn’t any fun, but the next step is to check for corrupted or missing game files if you’re playing on PC.

If you purchased R6 through Steam, here’s what you’ll need to do.

  1. Open Steam.
  2. Select ‘Library’ in the top left.
  3. Find Rainbow Six: Siege in the lefthand menu and right-click it.
  4. Select ‘Properties’.
  5. Select ‘Installed Files’.
  6. Select ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’.

You’ll need to wait until the process is finished. Once it is, try booting up R6 and playing the game. With luck, it won’t crash. If it does, well, there are options 3 and 4.

  • Update Your Graphics Driver

Sometimes, the problem is as simple as an outdated graphics driver. Make sure it’s up to date on your PC.

The process for updating your graphics driver will depend on which one you have. To update your Nvidia driver, you’ll want to go to their homepage. If you want to update your AMD graphics driver, you’ll need to go to their site.

  • When Nothing Else Works, Try Restarting Your Computer

It’s a solution as old as time, but sometimes it does the trick. Try closing out every single window on your computer and rebooting the game. Good luck!
