How to Fix Error Code 2006 in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

Another error code in the books.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide may be a few weeks past its full release now, but that doesn’t mean it’s bug-free. Quite the opposite actually, as players still find themselves walking into tons of bugs and issues whether it be simple visual issues or something more frustrating. On the frustrating side, a new error code has been popping up, giving players all sorts of headaches. Here’s how to fix error code 2006 in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

What is Error Code 2006 in Darktide?

While not happening at the most detrimental time, error code 2006 tends to occur whenever entering a game. After getting into the Mourningstar and selecting a mission, this error code will crop up and prevent you from entering the match. Obviously, this is better than completing most of the mission and being kicked out, but it’s still frustrating to be unable to play.

Unfortunately, none of our fixes are guaranteed to work either. They merely have a chance to work, so go about these fixes keeping that in mind. The first thing we suggest is to do the usual restarting fixes. Restart your game, restart Steam, and then restart your PC if the previous one doesn’t do the job. If those don’t work, some have suggested deleting the Darktide file in %AppData%. To do this, press the Windows Key and R simultaneously. In the Run window, type %AppData% and you should be brought to a folder. From there, double-click the Fatshark folder, find the Darktide folder, and delete it. This should re-add itself on the next launch and may fix your problem.

While these fixes aren’t guaranteed to work, rest assured Fatshark is aware of the error and is actively working to fix it. While that means you’ll be waiting some time, hopefully, the wait will be worth it.
