What Causes Error 279 In Roblox?

There are a few things that could cause the Error 279 code to pop up in Roblox, but the major issue seems to be something regarding either the Roblox Server or your Internet Connection. The first thing that you would want to do is check the Roblox Server Status, which can be done either through the official Roblox Website or through a website like Down Detector, which lets players post issues they are having with the game.

You can also check your Firewall settings to make sure that Roblox is allowed to pass through. It is a non-malicious application, so there should not be any reason that it would not work, but if you are having problems, give this a try. Follow these steps to see if Roblox has been blocked by your PC:

  • Open Settings on your PC
  • Type Firewall into the search bar
  • Click Firewall & Network Protection
  • Click Allow An App Through Firewall
  • Find and select Roblox
  • Exit and try again

After you have verified that there are currently no issues with the server, this could help you pinpoint the issues you are having. The next step that you should take is to give your PC, Mobile Phone, or Xbox a restart. There could be a small bug in your platform of choice that is causing this error to pop, and after a quick restart, you will likely be back in business.

While you are waiting for your platform to come back to life, give your Router a restart, as well. This should clear out any issues that you are currently having, letting you get back onto your favorite platform. If you have tried all of these steps, there is a chance that Roblox is currently working on their servers, and you may just need to have some patience while things are coming back online.

While it may not be the most fun thing to do, just being patient while you wait for your favorite platform to come back online could be the only way to get back onto it. Normally, this maintenance only takes a little while, so just get ready for your next adventure by chatting with your friends and getting a plan together for your next big raid.
