How to Fix the Blue Characters Error in Hogwarts Legacy

This blue character glitch in Hogwarts Legacy results from a bug with the high-contrast accessibility option. While this typically changes the game’s contrasts to make certain objects easier to see, it currently causes characters to appear in these bright colors such as blue and green.

You can take the following steps to fix this blue character bug:

  • Go into your game settings and select Accessibility Options. This is the person icon below your gameplay and controls menus.
  • Scroll down until you find “High Contrast Gameplay“. Turn this off.

By doing this, your character and other surrounding NPCs will return to normal without this peculiar blue appearance. You may have to restart the game if this issue doesn’t go away immediately.

A patch for this bug may be implemented in the future to help permanently eliminate the issue. While there are no details about this yet, the game is currently in its early access stages and will likely have bug fixes throughout the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, though, keeping High Contrast off will help prevent it from resurfacing.

Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch through the official website.
