If you’re anything like me, you immediately sprung to Game Pass to download Diablo IV on either your PC or your Xbox console of choice. Diablo 4 – How To Avoid Error 500 When Signing Into BattleNet

When trying to boot up Diablo IV for the first time, I was asked to sign in using my BattleNet account, much like Diablo III required. And much like Diablo III, there are still plenty of pesky issues that are causing issues to the newest installment in the Diablo franchise. Let’s see how we may be able to bypass them.

1) Restart Your Browser or Your PC

If you’re encountering this issue, the first thing that you’ll want to try is to exit the browser that you are currently using. Give the browser a full shutdown and try to log in once again using the code that you are provided. If this still doesn’t work, try giving your PC a full restart — we also recommend unplugging and replugging your router just for good measure. Try logging in again, and if you can bypass this screen, you’ll be ready to slay the hordes of demons awaiting you, especially in the Gauntlet.

2) Turn Off Your Ad Blocker

Look, we can’t blame you for using an Ad Blocker — they’re everywhere nowadays. But, if you’re trying to sign it, it’s strongly recommended to turn off your Ad Blocker either entirely for a while or just on that particular page. Reboot your browser again and try to sign in. If this doesn’t work, there are still a few more steps we can try.

3) Scan The QR Code And Use Your Phone

This was the step that worked for me and allowed me to jump into the game. I grabbed my trusty phone and scanned the QR code that was shown on my screen, which took me to the BattleNet login page. Thankfully, the code that was given to me was already punched in so there was even less work than originally expected. You’ll just need to log in using your account, and you should be able to pass beyond this point. If this doesn’t work, there is one more option you can try.

4) Log In Via Your Console

I’m playing Diablo IV on my Xbox Series X at the moment, and when I was trying to sign in, I was given the option to try and sign in on the console. If I had my keyboard and mouse set up, I would have likely tried this option rather than using my phone to save a little bit of time — but you can always give it a try using the controller if you’d like. Sign in here through the webpage, and you should be ready to go.

If these options are not working for you, you may need to wait a while before trying again — I’m guessing there is a bit of server strain due to the influx of players that are trying to sign in. Since Diablo IV does not have the option to play offline, it could be a game of patience to wait and see when a spot will open up for you.
