Nightingale is finally out on its Early Access, but it’s hard to actually enjoy the game when your connection is severed repeatedly by some consecutive error messages. One of them is the “A Network Error has Occurred”, and here’s how you can (try to) avoid it.
How to Fix A Network Error Has Occurred Error Message in Nightingale
Players have reported encountering this error while attempting to connect to the game. This has been a very common message for the early access period, and Inflexion Games has provided us with some solutions for the issue:
- Check for pending game updates
- Turn off any VPN
- Try using a wired connection (if playing on wireless) with a minimum of 5Mbps/Download
- Restart your internet connection
- Reboot your computer
- Make sure you have the minimum recommended specs
- Close other applications
- Temporarily disable your firewall/antivirus
While the original post mentions launching the game as Administrator, some users on the Nightingale official Discord server have mentioned that doing the opposite is what worked for them. It seems that different people had different results, so try opening the game both normally and as an administrator until you find your ideal solution.
As of now, there seems to be no definitive solution for the problem, Which is actually something to be expected, considering how many players are consecutively trying to join the game for the first time now. Of course, not everyone will experience these issues, but you can always try these turnarounds while they work on a concrete fix.
All of these problems should be addressed in the next few days when servers start to stabilize and have fewer people consecutively. Until then, you can start getting your Twitch drops for the game, as they’re a limited-time-only thing and don’t require staying logged into the game. Just make sure to log in once, at least.
