The simple act of fishing has returned in the rogue-like Hades 2, which was more involved in the predecessor. The minigame does have some use in the sequel, so here is how to fish in Hades 2.
How to Unlock Fishing in Hades 2
Hades 2 players can unlock fishing by purchasing the Rod of Fishing from the Silver Pool. The area is between the Altar and the Training Area at the Crossroads, the place you return to after every run.
The Rod of Fishing is not available to purchase from the beginning and must be unlocked by buying the Night’s Craftwork Incantation at the Cauldron. It can be bought from the Cauldron for one Moly, a flower that grows in the Erebus region and has a chance to spawn in any of its rooms.
Once the Gathering Tools category of the Silver Pool is unlocked, the Rod of Fishing can be purchased for two Fate Fabric and one Bronze. Fate Fabric can be bought from the Wretched Broker at the Crossroads for Bones, while Bronze is mined from the Surface area.
Once equipped, players can fish by walking up to a body of water with a small ripple, interact with the Fish prompt, and then time your button-press when your line jerks into the water deeply. You will capture a fish and it will be placed in your inventory.
How to Use Fish in Hades 2
The only current use for fish in Hades 2 is by selling them to the Broker at the Crossroads for Bones. Different types and rarities of fish can be sold for varying amounts of Bones. The game is currently in early access, so it is possible that there may be another use in the future.
