Escape from Tarkov has a task called Claustrophobia, which may literally scare people who have this fear. The task is done on the Factory map and requires an absurd amount of patience. The mechanics for the task may take you multiple raids, or you can even finish it in one go. As Tarkov players, we want to be lazy and efficient, so here’s the easiest way to finish Claustrophobia in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Complete the Claustrophobia Task in Escape from Tarkov

Claustrophobia requires you to do the following objectives on Factory:

  • Eliminate any five targets in the cellars while using a shotgun on Factory

The images above show the location of the cellars. It is easy to spot, especially for veteran players, because this is a popular extraction point, apart from gate 3 and med tents. You just need to go to gate 2 and look for the stairs going down. If you go down to the underground in other parts of the Factory, you can also make your way to the cellars.

This task is a bit disturbing because the cellar or underground tunnel has extremely narrow pathways, literally like a tunnel. No wonder it is called Claustrophobia.

The five targets can be any target, such as Scavs, PMCs, Tagilla, and Cultists. The only restriction is killing your teammates, as these do not count toward the objective.

The area of the cellars is quite big, so as long as you bait the target to go down to the underground area, you can finish the task by eliminating them.

Shotguns are the perfect weapon for the task, and they are also mandatory because of the objective. Since a lot of players will be looking to finish the same task, you’ll eventually see players causing havoc in the cellars.

If you play a few months after the wipe, it may take long, and you might have to bait some targets like Scavs to go down the cellars.

You can use the “cursed” technique, where you spawn in the game with almost nothing, and you’ll be tagged as “cursed.” Scavs will hunt you down as fast as possible as punishment, and you can bait them down the stairs. This might only work if you are lucky enough to spawn in gate 2.

If you have finished the Claustrophobia task, you can finish other tasks like Exit Here to be efficient, since both of them are in Factory. You can also try the Marathon mode and transit from this Factory location, assuming you reach this far in the marathon.
