No one wants to admit it, but collecting bugs is a big part of being the Legendary Swordsman of Hyrule. And one of the best bugs out there is undoubtedly the Bladed Rhino Beetle. But catching this bug is easier said than done… unless you know where to look. Here’s how to find Bladed Rhino Beetles in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Find Bladed Rhino Beetles in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

You’ve likely seen no end of bugs as you’ve galloped, glided, and sprinted your way across Hyrule. But the Bladed Beetled might be one of the most elusive (and useful) bugs out there. When mixed in the right elixir, it’s capable of raising your attack power for 2:40 minutes. Which is pretty useful in some of those tough boss fights.

But the Bladed Rhino Beetle is no easy bug to find. Fortunately, there’s a place where you can find four to five at a time. And that’s in Bronas Forest in East Necluda. If you’re not sure where that is, it’s just across the river from Lakeside Stable, in the area where you can find the Dondon. Its precise coordinates are 1562, -3354, 0059.

Here, you can find not only Bladed Rhino Beetles, which appear primarily on trees and the toppled, hollowed out tree, but all Rugged and Energetic Rhino Beetles too. But these insects only appear at night when it’s not raining. A hard ask, considering that it’s almost always raining in Bronas Forest. Fortunately, there’s a permanent fire in the Dondon farm near the woman who’s tending to them.

To make hunting Bladed Rhino Beetles easier, put on an armor, pop an elixir, or eat food that will increase your stealth. This is very important, as you’ll likely have to climb a tree in order to get to them. If you’re having a hard time finding the beetles, note that there are some on the trees amongst the Dondon, but using the Sensor+ will make tracking down these beetles a breeze. That’s because the Sensor will tell you precisely where your selected objective is. If the beetle is in a tree, it will tell you that it’s above you. It will also beep, which will save you the time you might have spent crouch walking everywhere.
