How to Evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

The strongest seadragon-horse around

Kingdra is one of the best-looking dragon Pokemon you can get in The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, but reaching its final form can be quite troublesome at first. Here’s what you need to do to evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Indigo Disk.

How to Evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Indigo Disk

Seadra evolves to Kingdra when it’s traded while holding a Dragon Scale. The evolution should be triggered as soon as the Pokemon reaches its new owner, who will automatically register it in their own Pokedex. Make sure that the other player is also sending you a scale-holding Kingdra so both will get it registered in your Pokedex without having to do an extra trade.

You can evolve it at any level as soon as you get your hands on Seadra, which evolves at Level 32 from Horsea. While Kingdra itself won’t learn any new moves by leveling, it can still remember the whole move pool from its previous evolutions and can still get some new tricks with the use of TMs.

Where to Find Dragon Scale in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The Dragon Scale can be bought at the School Store in Blueberry Academy for 250 BP. There are lots of important items that can be obtained with the currency in this store, including evolution items for many other Pokemon you can catch in the Terarium.

You can also get a Dragon Scale by catching Horsea/Seadra if you’re lucky enough. It has a low chance of holding it when you catch it, and will save you a good amount of points if it does. Catching a few extras until you get a Scale might be worth the effort if you’re saving your BP for something bigger like unlocking the Starter Pokemon in the Biomes.
