How to Evolve Scatterbug in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Scatterbug is a tiny little bug Pokemon you’ll encounter almost immediately in pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This little black-and-white bug is similar to many of the other early-game bug Pokemon from previous generations.

Much like Caterpie and Weedle, Scatterbug will evolve twice.

Scatterbug evolves into Spewda at level 9 and then into Vivillion at level 12. This is the case with most early bug Pokemon. They are designed to evolve early and are often underpowered by the end of the game—however, they are a great addition to any trainer starting out.

So if you want to evolve your Scatterbug, you’ll just need to level it up a few times. This can be done by fighting other wild Pokemon or fighting against trainers in Area One and beyond. Luckily, in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the experience share is always turned on. This means even if you aren’t suing Scatterbug in fights, it will still obtain some experience from every battle and catch.

You can also use the “Let’s Go” feature to auto-battle with Scatterbug and let it gain some experience while you explore. Just keep an eye on it.
