Pineco, first introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver, will evolve through leveling up. Like many of the early generation pocket monsters, Pineco will evolve into Forretress when reaching level 31. Nothing else is required for it to evolve. You don’t need a fancy item, special move, or requirement for your little Pineco to reach its final form.

Reaching level 31 isn’t too tricky, but if you’re looking for tips on speeding up the process, check below.

First, after doing a number of the gym challenges, you will be given an item known as the “Lucky Egg.” When given to a Pokemon to hold, it will increase the amount of experience the Pokemon earns. This is great if you’re looking to level up a Pokemon faster. So give the Lucky Egg to Pineco.

You can also use EXP Candies, which can be obtained from Tera Raid Battles, catching Pokemon, and taking classes at the academy. These give significant boosts of experience to a Pokemon and can be used to level up your Pineco incredibly fast.

While exploring, take advantage of the new “Let’s Go” feature, which allows Pokemon to auto-battle. This is a great way to farm some experience while you’re exploring the land of Paldea.
