How to Evolve Paldean Wooper into Clodsire in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Here's how to get your own lump of sentient dirt

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has brought to the franchise a wide variety of newcomers, vaguely familiar faces, and cyborgs. But the king among these Pokemon is indisputably Paldean Wooper’s evolved form, Clodsire.

For those who’ve never laid eyes on the best evolution to ever grace the series, Clodsire is essentially a round, shiny, dirt-inspired perfection. Among its many excellent qualities are stubby little limbs, a giant mouth, and a vacant expression. This is the best Pokemon to have existed. It’s obvious that it’s inspired by Wailmer and Quagsire, and yet it exceeds both of these Pokemon by every conceivable metric.

It’s only natural that you’d want to evolve your Paldean Wooper as quickly as possible in order to get a Clodsire of your own.

Like its non-regional variant, Paldean Wooper evolves into Clodsire at level 20, with no added tricks or mechanics needed. Upon reaching Level 20 and evolving, Clodsire will also learn Amnesia. This really seems to suit it.

If you’d prefer to keep your Paldean Wooper as is (which is understandable, as it’s very cute), you can always hunt down Clodsire in the wild. But unlike Paldean Wooper, Clodsire can be difficult to find as it’s a rare spawn. Still, hunt around ponds and wetland biomes in South Province (Area One), South Province (Area Six), East Province (Area Three), North Province (Area Two), and Glaseado Mountain.

But if you’re intent on hunting down a Clodsire, I’m not certain if it’s worth attempting to find its Shiny version. It’s slightly more purple but far hard to distinguish from the original. I guess The Pokemon Company didn’t want to mess with perfection.

Good luck, Trainer!
