Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has its fair share of whimsical and mischievous (if not outright murderous) Fairy Pokemon. But few embody the gremlin-like chaos that the fae bring, like Morgrem, a Pokemon that is literally classified as the “Devious Pokemon”. Morgrem is a fairly new Pokemon that debuted in Generation VIII, and it’s a Pokemon that many trainers might be unfamiliar with. If you fall into this category, you might be wondering if, when, and how Morgrem evolves.
I’m happy to tell you that this Scene kid does have an evolution, and it’s absolutely worth the grind to get it. Here’s how to evolve Morgrem into Grimmsnarl.
How to Evolve Morgrem in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Morgrem is the second stage in this Fairy-type line, and it’s likely that you encountered it in Tagtree Thicket, the only place it naturally spawns. But if you’ve been raising it for some time, you might have noticed that it still stays stubbornly in its scrawny devil form.
What gives?
The answer is fairly straightforward. While Morgrem is puny, its third stage is an absolute beast. Literally. And because it’s so strong, it doesn’t reach its third evolution until it reaches Level 42. Once it hits Level 42, Morgrem will evolve into the Bulk Up Pokemon, Grimmsnarl. Grimmsnarl is a Dark-Fairy type that does well in competitive in the support role and has a design that makes suffering with Morgrem for so many levels worth it.
But if you find that you can’t bother to grind up your Morgrem all the way to Level 42 (after all, even Tinkaton reaches its final stage at Level 38), you can still catch Grimmsnarl in Paldea. You’ll just need to find a 5-Star Tera Raid that features this Dark-Fairy Pokemon, but it’s likely you’ll be hunting it down for quite a while.
Good luck evolving that Morgrem, trainer!
