How to Evolve Lampent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

I love my possessed chandelier

Ghost Pokemon are easily the best Pokemon in the entire game, aesthetically. And Chandelure? Top-tier design. So, it only makes sense that you want to find out how to evolve Lampent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Evolve Lampent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

I love all Ghost Pokemon. They’re adorable and goofy, and none better represent this than Litwick and its lighting fixture-inspired line. But evolving Lampent into its final stage, Chandelure, can be a trial.

To evolve Lampent into Chandelure in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you’re going to need a Dusk Stone. And that’s it! No level requirements necessary. Just go into your inventory, select the ‘other’ menu, choose Dusk Stone, and then use it on Lampent.

Unfortunately, Dusk Stones are very rare. There are only three guaranteed locations in the entirety of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Here’s how to get these two Dusk Stones:

  • One Dusk Stone can be obtained as a Pokedex award in Paldea. You’ll need to catch 130 Pokemon to claim it.
  • One Dusk Stone can be found in Montenevera, immediately behind the gym. It makes sense that a Ghost Gym would have a Dusk Stone!

  • The last Dusk Stone is outside of Cascarrafa. Starting at Medali West, head South towards the trail that winds up the mountain. Follow this until you enter West Province (Area One), just outside of Cascarrafa, and you’ll find a Dusk Stone against the mountain wall.

If you already used these Dusk Stones to evolve Misdreavus and Murkrow, you still have one other option. You can go to the Porto Marinada Auction House to see if a Dusk Stone is available. There are only four market stalls, which means that only four items are available each day. But you can soft reset until the Dusk Stone appears. But prepare yourself! Resetting auction houses, like hunting for shinies, can be incredibly time-consuming.
