Double the firepower

After the initial release of Modern Warfare 3, most of the Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits have been part of weekly challenges like The Ettin for the AMR9. Some of these challenges come with weird bugs, so I’m here to explain how equipping will work for Week 6.

Why is The Ettin Not Unlocking in MW3?

For the time being, The Ettin attachment for the AMR9 is not unlocking for use in a loadout due to a bug. Even if you complete at least five of the Weekly Challenges for week 6 this season, you won’t be able to find your final reward. However, your weekly progress will tell you that the attachment for the AMR9 has been unlocked.

I tested out the challenges myself in Multiplayer and was able to quickly knock out the five required for an Aftermarket Parts reward. Like so many other players though, I wasn’t able to find The Ettin in the Conversion Kit slot or in the barrel slot for the AMR9. This was a similar issue for the Conversion Kit on the Tyr and hopefully gets fixed with the next update.

MW3 – How to Equip The Ettin on the AMR9

Once the bug has been fixed, you can equip The Ettin by selecting the AMR9 as your primary weapon in a custom loadout and choosing the Conversion Kit at the bottom right of the Gunsmith screen. Conversion Kits will change the entire way that a weapon functions, so be ready for a completely different build when using this.

The Ettin gives the AMR9 a double barrel attachment which is bound to substantially increase the firepower of the weapon. However, they all come at a cost. The AMR9 will likely take a hit to per bullet damage and control depending on how the overall stats are distributed.

For another Season 1 unlock, make sure to pick up the JAK Signal Burst for the Holger 556 in MW3.
