Some of the most horrifying enemies found in the Resident Evil 4 Remake are the terrifying Garradors. The armored, metal-clawed monstrosities operate similarly to Lickers from the Resident Evil 2 Remake, as despite their blindness, the finely tuned hearing of Garradors make them a force to be reckoned with. In order to obtain the “Never Heard it Coming” trophy/achievement, Resident Evil 4, players must defeat a Garrador using only knives. Here is an easy strategy to add “Never Heard it Coming” to your trophy/achievement collection in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How to Kill a Garrador Using Only Knives in Resident Evil 4
A Garrador is first encountered early in Chapter 7, when Leon falls into a dark dungeon of Salazar Castle, where one of the frightening creatures is on full-display during a cutscene. This is the best place to earn the “Never Heard It Coming” trophy/achievement, as future Garrador encounters are far more challenging.
Before you attempt to take on a Garrador using only knives, make sure you have brought a few in your inventory, as the monster has a robust health bar. It is also wise to upgrade the durability of the Combat Knife, as it will be heavily utilized for this achievement.

At the beginning of the first Garrador encounter, Leon will find himself in a dark room strewn with hanging chains and the mighty monster standing in front of him. Sneak out of the room as quietly as possible, into the adjoining open area. The Garrador will rapidly charge into the room, swinging wildly with its razor-sharp claws.
In the open area, avoid the chains, proceed to sneak around the Garrador, while staying out of its path, and slowly creep up towards its back.
The Garrador has a glaring weakness, a Plagas parasite sprouting from its back, which is susceptible to being stabbed or shot. For this achievement, you must only use knives against the creature. Sneak up to the Garrador’s back and you will see a button prompt to stab the monster (which varies depending on your platform of choice).
The Garrador will take heavy damage once you plunge the knife into its back parasite, but the monster will proceed to flail around in all directions with its sword-like claws, so move away, use stealth, and wait for another opportunity to stab it in the back again.
Repeat the process of sneaking up, stabbing the Garrador in the back, and hiding, until you have obtained the “Never Heard It Coming” trophy/achievement. Depending on your combat knife durability and difficulty level, it might take multiple knives to bring down the Garrador, so it is wise to attempt this achievement on a lower-difficulty run of Resident Evil 4.
