How to Disable Menu Text-to-Speech in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Accessible enough, thank you

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has an unexpectedly huge amount of accessibility features and that’s more than great. But sometimes you don’t need all of those, and that might be the case with the automatic text-to-speech function which works from the get-go.

How to Disable Menu Narration (Text-to-Speech) in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

If you don’t want to hear a mysterious voice from afar narrating every option description to you, pause the game (Esc on keyboard, Start on controllers) and select Settings. Head for the Audio tab and adjust Menu Narration to “Off”. You won’t be hearing any option description anymore as you play, but you can return and turn it to “On” again any time you want.

You can also adjust the voice’s volume here if you don’t want to ditch it completely, or even speed it up if it’s too slow for your liking. The reverse is also possible. Note that you won’t get this option if your voice language is set to anything other than English.

While this is an unusual option to have turned on for many games, it’s somewhat surprising (in a good way) to see it here. The game does bring many other similar accessibility features such as fully customizable Na’vi sense colors, font size for dialogues, and also many difficult-related adjustments that you can make to get the most pleasing experience possible.

Regardless of whether you enjoy the game or not, there’s no denying that the game does a great job of trying to be as accessible as possible for everyone who might enjoy playing their adventure at Pandora and it’s a standard that should be followed by other games in the industry. And it doesn’t lack most of the other regular game stuff like cosmetics and a decent Photo Mode, so everyone wins here.
