Get your AOE ready.

If you have already encountered the creepy Gloom Hands that spawn all around Hyrule, then you know just how dangerous the enemies can be. They drain your health in Tears of the Kingdom and they move much faster than most enemies, but I’m here to help you defeat them so those creepy shadow fingers are no longer a problem.

How to Beat Gloom Hands in Tears of the Kingdom

The best way to defeat Gloom Hands in TOTK is to use AOE attacks from your bow. Fusing Bomb Flowers to your arrows is a recipe for destruction against the shadowy hands. Bomb Flowers can easily be found in the Depths of the Hyrule, and it only takes six shots with the Bomb Flowers to destroy a pack of five Gloom Hands that are barreling toward you.

Using your bow won’t be enough, though. When I see these enemies, I like to get up high because the Gloom Hands don’t really know how to climb. They can follow you on basic paths, but climbing steep rocks or walls isn’t possible. That makes climbing to a perch the perfect way to avoid the hands grabbing you, as well as giving you distance from the Bomb Flower arrows you are sending their way.

How to Get Gloom Resistance in Tears of the Kingdom

One of the other major challenges when fighting Gloom Hands is their ability to inflict Gloom on you, which is an easy way to and lose hearts during the fight. Luckily, there are two ways to increase your resistance in TOTK. The first method is to find Gloom-resistant armor, and this will be better for fights on the fly.
