Nutcracker is the latest monster that was added to Lethal Company with the update 45, and it is precisely as you imagined it: a big toy soldier with a shotgun, hunting all of your crewmates down. Here’s how to deal with Lethal Company Nutcracker.
What Does the Nutcracker Do in Lethal Company?
To understand its mechanics better, we need to think of Nutcracker as a moving turret. When Nutcracker spots you, you still have a second or two to save yourself by getting behind a solid cover.
Nutcracker has two methods of attacking you:
- Ranged, where it’s slowly locking its aim onto you and then blasting you with its shotgun.
- Melee, where it’s killing you if you get too close to it.
You will be able to hear the Nutcracker approach by listening to the clanking sound of his limbs and the classic Nutcracker march tune.
How to Beat Nutcracker in Lethal Company
Now that we’re armed with this knowledge, we should arm ourselves with stun grenades or a zap gun, and some damage-dealing items such as shovels and stop signs.
You should stun the Nutcracker and beat it to death with about half a dozen decisive blows with the shovels or stop signs. It’s also possible to try and fish for opportunities to strike Nutcracker while attempting to kite it around corners in the corridors. However, that’s significantly harder, especially if another monster joins the fight.
How to Escape the Nutcracker in Lethal Company
Since the Nutcracker’s shotgun needs to reload after every two blasts, this gives you a good window to escape for cover. You’ll need to run towards safety in time before he puts his crosshairs on you again. It’ll take about three seconds total for him to reload his ammo.
Can You Steal Shotgun From Nutcracker in Lethal Company?
You may have noticed a “[E] Grab” tooltip when you are close to Nutcracker and aiming at its Shotgun. So far, I have not managed to steal the Shotgun from the Nutcracker before killing it. However, you can grab it if you are lucky enough.
The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, a Christmas fantasy story written in 1816, is the origin of the Nutcracker character. Also, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote the Nutcracker Op. 71 two-act ballet back in 1892. This may imply that Nutcracker might leave Lethal Company after the Christmas season. We’ll have to wait and see.
If you do get the Nutcracker’s shotgun, here’s how to use it:
- Reload: “E” key.
- Safety mode: “Q” key.
- Fire: Left mouse click.
