How to Avoid Eyeless Dogs in Lethal Company

The best way to deal with eyeless dogs is to stay as quiet as possible and carefully sneak around them until you safely return to base. They are invincible, blind enemies with excellent hearing; sounds like footsteps, your voice, and sound-producing items are dangerous, as they can easily notice these and begin their hunt. They also spawn outdoors and can catch you off-guard as you carry items back to your ship.

Since eyeless dogs have great hearing, nearly any nearby sounds will distract them, causing them to charge toward the source. If this is a player, they’ll swiftly eat the person and target anyone else who makes noise.

Below are some player and item-made sounds that can draw the attention of eyeless dogs in Lethal Company:

  • Footsteps, especially sprinting
  • Voice comms, including through walkie-talkie
  • Items like the air horn and toy robot

However, you can use an eyeless dog’s hearing to your advantage. If you have one on your tail and want to distract them, use items like the Radar Booster or order an item from the terminal store. Both create noise that will lure the eyeless dog away, allowing you to escape.

Alternatively, if you do not have access to items but need to communicate with your team, you can close your ship’s doors and briefly speak through a walkie-talkie or out loud to someone nearby. While eyeless dogs can fit inside your base, they can’t break down doors, giving you a short reprieve from danger until the doors open again.
