How to Customize your Rotom Phone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

You guys all have Rotom Phones right?

What’s a Pokemon game without a Rotom phone? This mobile device in various forms was present in most Pokemon sequels, and it was used to check the status of your Pokemon, to access options, as a quick save point, and even to see what is in your bag. Yeah, I know, using a cell phone to access items that are in your bag doesn’t sound very logical but hey, it’s the fun video game world where your phone is just like another Pokemon – but in actuality, it’s your in-game menu for just about everything.

To customize your Rotom Phone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet just press the left button on the D-Pad to access the customization menu. There navigate to the Rotom Phone menu (last icon to the right) and all of the available covers will be listed, you can select the one you want, confirm, and close the menu. But if you entered this customization menu right at the start of the game, you will be greeted by a screen like this:

In order to get some new covers for Rotom Phone you need to play a game a little bit until you reach the in-game store (Delibird Presents) where you can buy new cases. In the store, you will find a large selection of covers, although there are also some that are unlocked differently.

There are even some bonus Rotom Phone covers that are related to other games that you played on your Switch. If you have save files from previous Pokemon games for Switch such as last year’s spin-off Pokemon Legends: Arceus, previous mainline sequels Pokemon Sword and Shield, or remakes of Pokemon Brilliant Diamon or Pokemon Shining Pearl – they will all unlock special versions of Rotom Phone cases.
