How to Cook and Eat Food in LEGO Fortnite

Edible bricks

As soon as you load into a world, LEGO Fortnite is full of berries to eat, but you also want to be able to cook food for some serious benefits. To make sure you don’t starve, I’ll outline how you can start grilling and eating your own food in LEGO Fortnite.

How to Cook Food in LEGO Fortnite

To cook food, you need to craft a grill with 30 Granite and then deposit ingredients such as meat, corn, or eggs. Before you can place a grill down, you need to have a Crafting Bench in the area that allows you to make some basic designs around your camp. When you open up the recipe list after making the bench, you can find the red grill in the utility section.

After placing the grill on the ground and using up your 30 Granite, you need to have some ingredients on hand. I started with some standard meat, which you can get by attacking chickens or sheep in the area. Once you have an ingredient like meat, just deposit the food into the grill and wait for it to cook all the way. And don’t forget to go back into the grill and grab the food.

LEGO Fortnite: How to Cook and Eat Food:

  • Build a grill with 30 Granite.
  • Deposit ingredients like meat or corn into the grill.
  • Wait for the food to cook.
  • Take the food and place it into your action bar to eat it.

Everyone will start with at least three recipes to use on the grill, but as you explore your own world, or complete quests for Cuddle Team Leader, the library should increase. Eventually, you can start making food that fixes your hunger in an instant and even provides some buffs such as additional energy.

Don’t forget that you actually need to eat the food as well. When you pick up your grilled food, open up your inventory and place the food into your quickbar. Then you can actively eat the item which only takes a couple of seconds at a time.

Don’t get your hopes up about using guns to hunt for meat in LEGO Fortnite either. Crossbows are your best bet.
