BitLife challenges often get wild and goofy, and this week is no exception. Starting May 13, 2023, you’ll have to become a psychiatrist who lives a fairytale life. Or, well, a fairytale with dark twists and turns! It’s BitLife, though, so that’s to be expected. How to Complete the Scarytale Romance Challenge in BitLife
Below are the tasks you will have to finish for the Scarytale Romance challenge in BitLife:
- Be born a female in Colorado
- Become a psychiatrist
- Rent out a haunted storybook home
- Wed the tenant of your haunted storybook home
- Poison your spouse in your haunted storybook home
Landlord Expansion Pack Requirement
As you read these tasks, you’ll notice that you need a haunted storybook home and a tenant. These are both features of the Landlord Expansion Pack, which requires spending real money to purchase through the BitLife marketplace. It doesn’t come with Boss Mode, so make sure to double-check if you have it!
If you already have the expansion, though, you can move forward with the tasks!
How to Be Born a Female in Colorado for the BitLife Scarytale Challenge
The first task of this challenge is the easiest once you learn where Colorado is! To begin this challenge, create a female character whose starting country is the United States and starting place is Denver. Since Denver is Colorado’s capital, it works perfectly for the challenge!
How to Become a Psychiatrist in BitLife
Once you create your character, age up until she graduates secondary school. From here, choose to enter university and pick psychology as your program. Complete your four years before moving on to medical school! These are all required to become a psychiatrist, so make sure you have high smarts beforehand to ensure you’re accepted and get plenty of scholarships.
After graduating from medical school, head into the full-time job list and look for a psychiatrist career. I usually find it pretty quick from this point following medical school graduation, but if you don’t, you can close and reopen the BitLife app before rechecking the list. Once you find the job, apply for it and pass the interview to become a psychiatrist!
If you’re ever interested in pursuing other medical roles, you can also become a family doctor in BitLife or work towards surgeon roles, among others!
Rent Out and Wed the Tenant of a Haunted Storybook Home
From this point onward, make sure you have a lot of money to save up for a storybook home! From my experience, these next three tasks are by far the hardest part of the BitLife Scarytale Challenge. You need both money and time management skills!
To begin this second half, you’ll have to head into a Real Estate Broker shop and search the list until you find Haunted Storybook homes. Similar to the job list, if you can’t find it, you can age up or close and reopen the game before checking again. House prices vary greatly depending on your game, but don’t be surprised if they go for over $500,000 or even over $1,000,000!
Once you get your Storybook home, you’ll find it in your properties list alongside options to rent and upgrade your home. Rent the house to a tenant and talk to the person before asking them out. Shortly after, you can either wait for them to propose or ask the big question yourself, but you’ll want to do it quickly! After all, it’s a haunted house, and if the person doesn’t move out after a few years, the ghosts may very well get to them first. The sooner, the better!

Poison Your Spouse in Your Haunted Storybook Home
It’s time for the final showdown after the marriage! By heading into Activities, selecting Crime and picking murder, you can choose your spouse and poison as the victim and method, respectively. Attempt the murder and get away with it to complete the final task!
