How to Complete the Sharing the Faith Quest in WoW SoD

Sharing the Faith is a quest available for all priests who reach Level 5 or higher. You can find it in the first big main city for your race: Ogrimmar for Trolls, Darnassus for Night Elfs and Stormwind for Humans and Dwarfs.

Trolls get the quest from Ur’kyo, Night Elfs receive it from Lariia and Humans/Dwarfs from Bishop Farthing. Steps will be the same regardless of your race, with the main differences being the location and NPCs you’ll talk with.

  • WoW SoD Sharing the Faith Location Darnassus
  • WoW SoD Sharing the Faith Location Ogrimmar
  • WoW SoD Sharing the Faith Location Stormwind

This quest serves to teach players about the Praying mechanic, where Priests from different races can pray over each other to share their Meditation buffs. Many Runes require different Meditation buffs to be learned. A player can usually only get their race’s Meditation by praying on their god’s altar, but they can later share it with other Races by praying upon them.

Once you get the quest, the Priest asks you to pray upon the nearby Supplicant to share your Race Meditation buff. You can see it on the top right corner of the screen, and you should still have it if you completed the first Priest quest recently.

/pray upon the Supplicant, then speak with the Priest NPC once again to complete the quest. Note that the Supplicant must be kneeling for the prayer to work, otherwise you won’t be able to complete the quest.

IMPORTANT:

Many players have reported that this quest is currently bugged and cannot be completed as the Supplicant isn’t kneeling. The quest does work as intended, but the Supplicant will be standing up if someone recently prayed over them. It can take a good while for it to get back to its knees. This quest doesn’t award any Rune nor is it a prerequisite for anything, so you can just skip it for now if you want.

Old quest design issues aside, this quest is rather simple and does a fine job of presenting the kneeling/praying mechanic for Priests, who’ll have to do it throughout their whole playthrough if they want to learn some new Rune spells in the future. There are a lot of runes to be found in World of Warcraft’s Season of Discovery, so remember to share your own faith frequently!
