Most of the early faction missions that are assigned in the Call of Duty: DMZ mode are fairly easy to grind through, but some of them have confusing wording, or can simply bug out. One of those missions is Key Elimination, which is part of the Tier 1 section of the Legion faction.

At first glance, the mission is fairly simple and really just revolves around using keys within Al Mazrah or Ashika Island. However, there are some issues, and this COD DMZ guide will cover every aspect of the Legion mission so you can quickly move on to the next one.

COD DMZ – How to Complete Key Elimination

The basis of this Legion objective is to take on a High Value Target and utilize a key within one of the exclusion zones. HVT contracts almost always drop a key, but the drop tends to be random. Taking out an HVT is step one in the set of tasks, but you don’t necessarily need that specific key to complete your task. Before we get into the key part of the tasks, you can find all three objectives below.

Key Elimination DMZ Tasks:

  • Complete an Eliminate HVT contract.
  • Loot a key found on an HVT or elsewhere.
  • Use a key to unlock a locked space or locked cache.

Parts one and two are simple. Players just need to complete an HVT and pick up the key as a reward. Because the keys are random though, using the key in that deployment can be a daunting task. The good news is that you can extract and come back with any key that you want.

In some cases, the mission won’t register after you utilize a key to open up a cache or a locked door, so just redeploy with a new key. As long as you have the Key Elimination mission selected for the COD DMZ mode, the task should complete after you use your key.
