How to Complete ‘Gloom-borne Illness’ Quest in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Gloom-Borne Illness can be found in Kakariko Village. You’ll find a woman sitting by a fire under a little hut. She will tell you about her sick grandmother and how porridge used to make her better, but now with this Gloom illness, nothing seems to be working.

You will need to make Porridge, but instead of using wild greens, you’ll need to use Sundelions, which are found on the Sky Islands. You’ll need at least two to make the porridge.

The recipe for Porridge is as follows

  • Fresh Milk
  • Hylian Rice
  • Sundelions

You can purchase both of Fresh Milk and Hylian Rice at the Hateno Village general store, known as the East Wind. You can also find traveling merchants around stables who sell it as well. If you haven’t been to Hateno Village yet, we’ve got a guide on where to find it below.

After purchasing the ingredients, just cook the dish at a campfire or use a Portable Pot. Drop in at least one of each ingredient to make Sunny Porridge. Head back to Kakariko and give it to Lasil. She will give it to her grandmother, and it will heal her.

You will be rewarded with discounts at the clothing shop in Kakariko Village.

This also teaches you that you can cook this to stave off Gloom effects in The Depths.

That’s everything you need to know about how to complete the “Gloom-Borne Illness” side quest in Tears of The Kingdom. While you’re in Hateno getting your ingredients, be sure to change your glider fabric so you’re gliding in style. Here’s where to change your glider fabric in tears of The Kingdom.
