How to Beat Bodybuilders in a Bind in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7R)

Costa del Sol seems to attract all sorts of familiar faces, from Madam M to Hojo to Jules. And, of course, Jules needs our help. To unlock this side quest, you’ll first complete Rendezvous in Costa del Sol, where you’ll inspire three fashion designers. After they’ve made their bikini debuts, Jules will appear and offer up the quest. But to actually claim it, you’ll need to go to the Community Noticeboard just a little north of Chadley in town.

Once you’ve done that, leave the resort town and enter the feral wilds of the Corel Region. Jules Training Gym is at the top of the hill in the center of the map, just north of the beach. Hike up the curving hill and enter the training gym to speak to him. He’ll ask you to take out four groups of fiends in the area.

Three of the groups of fiends are easy to come by. The fourth can be easily missed, depending on how you got off the hill. The first three groups of fiends will be on the well-worn path around the Training Gym, at the base of the hill. The fourth group of fiends will be on the hill itself, on the winding path you took up to the gym. On the map, this fourth group is marked as “4”.

The group of fiends will all consist of the same monsters:

  • Crown Lance, which are capable of petrifying and is quick to dodge. They are weak to Fire.
  • Citripinefish, a standard enemy that can shoot out soporific bubbles. They’re weak to Blizzard.
  • Citripine Schoolmaster, capable of creating massive bubbles which will stun you if they touch you. They’re weak to Blizzard.

Once you’ve defeated the four groups of enemies, return to Jules. Amina will pop in to tell Tifa how much she admires her and then challenges her to a sit-up contest.

The sit-up contest functions pretty much the same as the pull-up contest you had so many years ago against Jules. You’ll need to hit the button that’s highlighted in order. That order will be:

  • R1 – > L1 -> L2 -> R2.

Each circuit you complete will count as one sit-up. Amina will only mess up once or twice. No matter what, you’ll need to have close to a flawless run to win, as she’s quite the challenge. Ties will count as a win for Amina. To make this a little easier, know you can hit the button a little earlier than it appears on the square, like when you play the piano to score that A rank, and that the circuit will get faster as you grow closer to the finish line. This will help you edge out Amina.

Once you’ve defeated Amina, she’ll ask Tifa to be her muscle mentor. And from this one line, hundreds of fan fictions will be born. You’ll also get three Celeris as the basic reward, 700 EXP, and the ability to challenge Ronnie to a crunch off.

Speak to Amina again if you want to challenge her for new rewards.

  • Rank I – Supernatural Wristguards.
  • Rank II – Chakra Materia.
  • Rank III – Champion Belt.

Or if you want to do something more leisurely, why not check out the nearby Cape del Amor Cache and pick up a unique healing accessory?
