Chapter 4 Season 2 of Fortnite has plenty of timed map objectives that can appear throughout the match, and naturally, some of these are tied to the Weekly Quests. One of the latest missions that players have been tasked with calls for claiming the capture point on the Floating Loot Island.
Not only is this Weekly Quest going to be a difficult task on its own, but some new players to the season may not know what a Floating Loot Island is at all. The mechanic is new to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 and we’ll explain how you can claim one of the islands in this guide.
Fortnite – How to Claim the Capture Point on the Floating Loot Island
After the first circle closes in the match, objectives will start to randomly appear. The Highcard Boss and the key to the vault are one of the first objectives that will appear. With the latest update, Combat Caches have become the second standard spawn after about two circles. One of the Floating Loot Islands is what comes in for the third objective.
Because these islands are late-game appearances, you can expect to see them around circle four. You’ll hear a large crack in the sky and then an objective with a rift symbol will appear. That means the Floating Loot Island appearing in Fortnite is imminent and there will be a distance labeled on the map. Like all the other objectives, where the island spawns are random.

Once the island spawns, make your way there as fast as possible and either take one of the many zip lines hanging off the side or use a rife on the outskirts of the land mass on the ground level. When you reach the top, you’ll see a Capture Point, and if someone isn’t already holding it, simply walk in the circle and get ready to fight some enemy players in Fortnite.
