Of course, catching a shiny Primal Groudon will not be as simple as finding one in the wild during the Hoenn Tour. You will need to be at the right place at the right time. In this guide, we will cover how you can get a shiny of your own in Pokemon GO while the event is live.

Pokemon GO – How to Catch Shiny Primal Groudon

The new Primal Reversions are essentially an extension of the Mega Evolutions that were already introduced to the game. Why is that important? Because it means you will not be able to catch a Primal Groudon as it is. However, that actually makes the process much easier.

To obtain a shiny Primal Groudon, you will need to catch a standard Groudon. The Continent Pokemon can be battled in Raids, and upon victory, the Legendary will be part of a reward encounter. Each one of these raid encounters has a chance to spawn a shiny, and the same is true for Groudon.

During the Pokemon GO Tour: Hoenn event, Groudon and Kyogre will be some of the main raid bosses that you can battle with fellow Trainers. Complete these until you have the shiny that you need, which is fairly likely with event raids like this. Once you have enough Primal Energy, you can have the shiny Primal Groudon you have been looking for.
