Where to Find the Seismic Talus in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

The Seismic Talus is the final boss of the Suthorn Ruins. You can find the entrance to the Suthorn Ruins by heading northeast of Suthorn Village and northwest of the Suthorn Forest. It’s the first Echoes of Wisdom dungeon you will explore, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. The Suthorn Dungeon still has its fair share of enemies to defeat and puzzles to solve, as any Zelda game does.

You will even have to defeat a shadow Link on the way through the dungeon. Defeating Sword Link can be troublesome, but unlocking the Sword is worth it, as it will be a great help in the fight against the Seismic Talus.

The main things that will help you solve the puzzles in the dungeon and eventually make your way to the boss are Tri’s grab ability and Strandtula Echoes. Tri’s grab ability will help you move the large rocks blocking your way in the dungeon, and Strandtulas are an excellent way to reach high ledges without having to build elaborate climbing formations!

The Seismic Talus has only one weakness. The small, glowing purple core at the base of its rocky body. This is what you need to aim for.

Phase One

The Talus’s weak spot will be at the bottom of its body in the first phase of the fight. This is within reach of most monsters you can summon, so you don’t need to worry too much about what Echo Minions can reach it.

The best time to summon a minion is when the Seismic Talus slaps the ground with its huge, rocky hands. Its hands get stuck in the ground for a moment after this move, giving you the perfect opportunity to summon a minion behind the beast so it can hit the exposed weak point at its back.

Once you’ve hit the core enough times, the Seismic Talus will crumble, leaving the ball exposed on the ground. Transform into Swordfighter Mode to slash away at the core until the Talus regenerates.

Phase Two

The core will be on the Talus’s left shoulder in the second phase of the fight. This makes it a little harder to reach for ground-dwelling enemies, so summoning something that flies is a good idea. That way, you can get some hits in while the boss is moving around the arena.

Like in the first phase, there is an ideal time to target the core. This time, aim for the core when the beast shoots its left fist off. While the fist is flying toward the other side of the arena, the core is fully exposed and can be targeted by either a flying or ground-dwelling Echo.

Phase Three

The core will be sitting atop the Seismic Talus’s head during the third phase of the fight. Since the core is off the ground, flying Echoes will be able to get more strikes in. But if you would prefer to save your Echoes for a stronger minion, you can wait for the perfect opportunity to strike.

That will be when the Talus slams its hands into the ground, just like in the first phase. This time, however, the core isn’t exposed at its back. It’s also protected by Talus’s large, rocky hands. You can’t climb on top of the hands, so your only choice is to summon an Echo that has long-range attacks.

A Spear Moblin can land a perfect strike on the core from a distance!

Most Echoes will be destroyed by the Talus’s many attacks. Keep an eye on the beast and anticipate its movements. The Seismic Talus raises both hands in the air above its head before slamming them back down.

Summon your Echo the moment after the initial shock to give your minion enough time to hit the core before the beast wrenches its hands free. Once you’ve hit the core enough times, it will implode, freeing Tri’s friends and leaving only a Heart Container behind.
