Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s Lictor boss might be the most terrifyingly difficult encounter in the game. It is fast, intelligent, and invisible, for the most part. The Lictor plays around with its invisibility, and if you don’t react fast enough, this encounter will feel like a brick wall to you. Here’s how to beat the Lictor boss in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2.
How to Defeat the Lictor in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
The Lictor would’ve been a terrifying encounter if the fight wasn’t in broad daylight. It has cloaking capabilities and moves extremely fast. It has lightning-quick attacks that show the blue or orange circle indicator (blue for parrying and orange for dodging). The Lictor is mainly a melee fighter, so you don’t need to worry about projectiles coming in your direction.

For the whole fight, you only have to worry about two main things. First, the Lictor actually goes up the tree branches when it stealths. If it cloaks in front of you, you’ll never expect the boss to climb up and attack. If the Lictor disappears for around three seconds and it hasn’t shown up yet, look up, and it might be preparing for a lunging attack from the sky. You cannot block this attack so it is best to dodge or dodge roll (double-tapping the dodge button).
Second, the Lictor is extremely fast. It disappears in front of you, and it could reappear on your sides. It loves to move from left to right to avoid your crosshair. Once the Lictor appears again, it’ll perform fast slashes and combos. There’s no time to look if you should parry or dodge the attack. In this case, you always want to dodge instead of blocking or parrying.
When you constantly dodge even if the Lictor isn’t attacking you directly, you’ll occasionally dodge some attacks and trigger a kill shot opportunity. This is when you see a red crosshair icon on the Lictor’s head. Just tap your shoot button, and Titus will perform a kill shot for a high-damage attack. You can do this combat loop, dodging constantly and doing kill shots until the Lictor is dead.
If you have some space, you can spray the Lictor with your rifle. I highly suggest avoiding melee combat unless you are confident in blocking and dodging when the Lictor alternates between normal and fast attacks. If there is no choice, use the Combat Knife melee weapon as it is one of the best weapons for the fight.
It is also worth noting that there is one medical spawn near the tree in the middle of the fight. If you run out of HP, you can use Titus’s Fury ability for healing.
