How to Beat Ganon #1 in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Not this guy again.

Ganon is the infamous bad guy in The Legend of Zelda series, and Echoes of Wisdom is no different. Unfortunately, Hyrule is destined to suffer the wrath of Ganon once again, and it’s up to you to save them by defeating him once and for all. Or, until the next Zelda game comes out, anyway.

The first time you will encounter Ganon is right at the beginning of the game. Facing such a strong enemy in the opening scene can be daunting. If you’re struggling with Ganon, here’s how you can defeat him in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Where to Find Ganon in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Although Zelda is the heroine of Echoes of Wisdom, you will actually begin the game playing as Link, where you will have to fight your way through a mini-dungeon to save Zelda. This mini-dungeon serves as a tutorial of sorts to get you used to many of the controls in the game, like jumping, attacking, and using your shield.

The mini-dungeon is short, and it won’t take long for you to reach Ganon and Zelda.

Ganon’s weapon of choice is a very large and very pointy double-ended spear. And, unfortunately, despite all the Shield practice you got on the way here, your Shield is not effective against Ganon’s spear. Your only choice is to dodge the strike and run in to land some hits before Ganon pulls his weapon back and teleports to safety.

After dodging a couple of Ganon’s spear thrusts, he will shoot a ball of energy your way. Instead of dodging this attack, swipe with your sword to hit the ball and send it flying back toward Ganon. He will hit it back to you.

Hit the ball again and again as many times as it takes for Ganon to eventually get struck by it and fall to the ground. That is your opportunity to run in and slash Ganon with your sword. Repeat this process around two to three times, and Ganon will fall for good. Unfortunately, so will Link. That’s not such a bad thing, though, as it gives you the chance to finally play as Zelda and begin your adventure in Echoes of Wisdom.
