Weapon Attachments in the Resident Evil 4 Remake Explained

Weapon parts (and most guns) can be obtained via the Merchant. Sometimes purchasing a weapon gives players a chance to acquire a free modification, such as the scope of the SR M1903 Rifle for example.

Once you have acquired a weapon and a corresponding part, open the “Items” section of the inventory, and locate the weapon part you wish to attach to the gun. For this example, we will be attaching the scope to the SR M1903.

When you select the part, a menu will provide the following three options:

  1. Parts
  2. Examine
  3. Send to Storage

Select “Parts” to attach the item.

After selecting “parts,” there will be a dropdown menu of compatible guns for the modification. Select the weapon of choice for the item modification. In the example above, the scope would be attached to the M1903.

Once you have attached a part to one of the guns, there will be a small white gear in the bottom lefthand corner of the weapon to demonstrate that it has been modified. As seen above, the modified SR M1903’s explains, “When fitted with a scope for sniping, this model is highly praised for its accuracy.”

The Importance of Weapon Attachments in Resident Evil 4

Weapon attachments can greatly improve the capabilities of weapons. While upgrades can improve the base stats of firearms such as damage output, magazine capacity, reload speed, etc., an attachment can monumentally change how a gun performs. In the SR M1903 example, the scope attachment gives Leon the ability to snipe enemies from long distances, helping to thin larger groups before directly engaging in combat.
